On March 3, 2019 PTCREW toured the upcoming Tanger Center for Performing Arts. The Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts in being constructed with a $78 million dollar budget funded from both private and public funds. The Center for Performing Arts will be a state-of-the-art facility due to open later this year. The facility will have a seating capacity of approximately 3,000. Two years went in to the planning of this facility which will be able to accommodate both musical events and Broadway productions under one roof. This capability is credited to state of the art technology and vast studies performed on the most efficient and effective seat placement. The venue will be located in downtown Greensboro at the site surrounded by North Elm and East Lindsay Streets and Summit Avenue across from Lebauer Park. PTCREW had an exclusive opportunity to learn about the planning of the center as Walker Sanders led us through each stage of the planning process and gave a presentation showing rendering of what is to be expected when the facility is open. With no surprise, this event sold out!
If you missed it, images of the event have been added to the
