The Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC) is focused on recruiting new businesses to the state, supporting the needs of existing businesses, connecting exporters to global customers, helping small business owners get their start, and attracting tourists and visitors from all over the world.  Tracy represents the Central Region (Piedmont Triad), covering Alamance, Caswell, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Guilford, Randolph, Rockingham, Stokes, Surry and Yadkin counties.

Nancy B. Vaughan is the mayor of Greensboro in North Carolina. First elected in 2013, she won a new term in the general election on November 7, 2017. Before becoming mayor, Vaughan was a member of the Greensboro City Council, representing District 4 from 1997 to 2001 and serving at-large from 2009 to 2013.

As a Commercial Property Specialist for Blue Ridge Companies, Stephanie is responsible for the day to day management of the Commercial Properties in the Blue Ridge portfolio located in North Carolina and South Carolina.  She is also involved in the development of policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems for those properties. Stephanie has been active in the property management industry since 2003.  Prior to Blue Ridge, Stephanie has served as a lease accountant and property accountant for Tanger Outlets, Samet Corporation and Brown Investment Properties.  In her roles, Stephanie worked with a portfolio consisting of over 100 properties in various regions across the US.

We are excited to announce another new member.  Please join me in welcoming Kristi Johnsen, CPA, Senior Associate LBA Haynes Strand, PLLC.

Kristi Johnsen      Kristi Johnsen is a Senior Associate in the Greensboro, NC office.  Kristi graduated from the University of Alabama with a BS in Commerce & Business Administration with an emphasis on accounting.

Kristi’s favorite part of being a certified public accountant is assimilating numbers and producing valuable management advice to pass on to her clients.  Kristi focuses on corporate and individual taxes at LBA Haynes Strand, providing great client service along the way.  When asked why she became an accountant, Kristi said, “I like the fact that in an ever changing world, some things just balance.”  After graduating from college, Kristi worked at several CPA firms in Atlanta, GA.  In 1993, Kristi relocated to North Carolina and acquired her CPA licensure in the state.  She has worked in accounting, communication, and educational fields in various capacities throughout her career.  Her diverse background and skill set makes her a key piece of the LBA Haynes Strand team.

 

When she’s not in the office, Kristi loves spending time with her husband and children; watching them play sports, meeting for dinner, or going to college football games.  Kristi also enjoys reading, especially at the beach!

Morehead Foundry multiplex has officially opened and we were fortunate to learn more about this 33,000-square-foot building that has been converted into multiple concepts that include three eateries, a private bar, an event space and a catering company!

Lee Comer lead a discussion on:

  • What led her to that particular building and area
  • The construction/design process. How this warehouse that she purchased has evolved to this incredible facility.
  • An overview of the various restaurants and venues
  • Future plans for Fresh. Local. Good. Food Group
